November 2, 2009 Meeting Cancelled

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Custodes Pacis Lodge #2085:

Our regularly scheduled monthly meeting for Monday, November 2, 2009 at 7:00pm is being canceled due to the World Series. We wish to be proactive rather than reactive to the possibility of the Phillies going to Game 5. Many police officers were informed that they may have to work even if they are scheduled to have off. Vice President Ronnie Peluzzo will be calling Randi’s Restaurant tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28 to discuss the possibility of rescheduling our dinner meeting. Please stay tuned for the outcome of his discussion! We will send out e-mail notifications and post the information on our website.

Tickets are still available for the November Lottery program. Earnings from this fundraiser go exclusively to the Scholarship Program. Please support this worthy cause! If you would like to purchase a ticket, you may contact any lodge officer. Tickets are still only $5.00 for an opportunity to win for the month of November. If the Pennsylvania nighttime lottery matches your ticket number, you will win $50 on weekdays, and $100 on the weekends.

Thank you for your continued support of our lodge!

February 2009 News

Next Meeting – The next monthly meeting will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the FOP Hall, 1336 Spring Garden Street.  Food and refreshments will be served.

President’s Message

I hope everyone had am enjoyable holiday season and that 2009 brings lots of health and prosperity.

2009 also brings Lodge Elections and I encourage all members who are interested, to run for one of the offices. Although I have only been in office for one term, I will not be seeking reelection in March.  I have enjoyed the task of serving as your president; however at this time I must attend to personal and family matters.  All members interested in running for one of the offices should contact me before the February meeting to let me know their intention to run.

I previously mentioned that a 50th anniversary banquet was planned for March.  Unfortunately, planning for this event got off to a slow start and as a result the celebration has been postponed. No date has been set at this time, however, I welcome all ideas for a 50th anniversary celebration and invite members to come to the February meeting to discuss.

The Children’s Christmas party that was scheduled for December 21st, 2008 was canceled due to inclement weather. All toys purchased for the event were donated to area charities.
